This weekend, we celebrate Thanksgiving; an excellent opportunity to spend some time each year celebrating all the wonderful things that merit our gratitude (family, food, shelter, the abundance ofthe harvest, etc.). It’s important, in the midst of our celebrations, to consider those who may not be as abundantly blessed as we are. Make a donation of food or money to a worthy organization; phone a friend or family member who may have fewer people with whom to celebrate; or invite someone new to your family’s Thanksgiving meal. One of the best ways to show the genuineness of our gratitude is to reach out to those who are struggling. May your Thanksgiving celebrations be joyful…and if anyone’s looking for pointers on deep-frying a turkey, come and see me.
