Fraudulent Emails Afoot. Be vigilant.
It has come to my attention that some parishioners and parish volunteers have received fraudulent emails purporting to be from Fr. Joseph or myself and soliciting donations or financial assistance of other kinds. This is, sadly, a reality of the times in which we live, and is evidence of the need for caution and vigilance in all our online activities. Please know that we would never approach parishioners for assistance in this way, and use only our @hamiltondiocese.com email addresses for parish-related communication. If the email did not come from an @hamiltondiocese.com address it did not come from us and should be both ignored and discarded.
Thank You for Your Generosity
A few weeks ago, the St. Vincent de Paul Society asked me to make announcements after Mass requesting donations of canned goods and other non-perishable foods to replenish our emptying pantries. I’m pleased to report that I’ve heard from our volunteers that the parish met the need with a truly impressive act of generosity and charity of heart, ensuring the Society’s continued good work. The people of St. Matthew Parish have, I know, over the years shown themselves to be dedicated and generous in making offerings both material and spiritual. Thank you for your generosity and for your continued support of our parish!
