The momentum for action to protect our common home is growing stronger every day.
That’s why we’re so grateful to officially announce a new initiative by and for young Catholics. It's called Laudato Si’ Generation. We are Catholic Youth led by the Spirit!
Laudato Si’ Generation is GCCM’s youth arm, and it’s steered by a partnership of leading Catholic organizations from around the world. Young people are standing up to make sure their future is safe. Older generations are standing with them. The Spirit is opening doors, and we’re accomplishing incredible things together. As the latest signs of progress, Catholic communities planted an astonishing 19,000 trees for Earth Day, and a wave of institutions has just divested from fossil fuels.
The spirit of solidarity between generations was captured beautifully in the recent encounter between Pope Francis and Greta Thunberg, the 16-year-old Swedish girl who has inspired a global movement. You can take action to support young people and Laudato Si’ Generation. Join the global climate movement on May 24, the anniversary of Laudato Si’.
