Liturgy of the Word for Children (ages 4 thru 6) takes place during the “Liturgy of the Word” section of the mass. All children ages 4 through 6 are invited to participate on Sunday at the 9:00 am or 10:30 am masses. The children are invited to come to the altar, and then are led to the basement by an adult facilitator. The readings they hear are from the children’s lectionary and correspond with the readings the adults are hearing in the church. Following the readings the children enter into a discussion of the readings they heard, and how they can relate them to their life. They participate in their own Prayers of the Faithful. Returning to mass occurs following the Prayers of the Faithful. Parents, please watch for your children when they return from their Liturgy of the Word during mass. Some of our little ones are confused, and it would help if they knew you were expecting them!
