The Senior Choir is a liturgical SATB choir providing leadership weekly at the 10:30 am Mass from the Sunday after Labour Day to the end of June each year. In addition, the choir provides leadership for special liturgical celebrations including the Easter Triduum liturgies and the 9:00 pm Mass on Christmas Eve. This volunteer choir is open to singers of all skill levels. Those wishing to become cantors at the 10:30 Mass may be asked to audition.
The choir is supported by a number of instruments throughout the year. In addition to piano, other instruments include guitar, drums, trumpet, harp, violin, and cello. Instrumentalists must have enough proficiency to be able to support the singing of the choir and congregation. New instrumentalists may be asked to audition.
In this video, the choir sings Then Sings My Soul (How Great Thou Art) as arranged by Mary McDonald.
The children's choir is a liturgical choir that provides music leadership on the last Sunday of the month at the 9:00 am Mass. The choir rehearses on the two preceding Saturdays from 3:00-3:45. This choir is open to young people in grades 3-8.
The youth choir is a liturgical choir that provides music leadership weekly at the 7:00 Sunday evening Mass (October to May). This informal group gathers early to rehearse, and sing at Mass. It is strongly recommended that those interested in joining be at least in high school. This is a great opportunity to earn volunteer hours!
Midnight Mass Choir
For those who enjoy choral singing, but can't commit to weekly rehearsals during the year, a special choir is put together to provide music leadership for the Christmas Midnight Mass. This volunteer choir is open to singers of all ages and skill levels, with rehearsals taking place once a week during the month of December.
